Introduction To HTML

I am a frontend web developer, and a technical writer.
HTML stands for HyperText Markup Language. It is a markup language used for creating web pages. Markup languages are used to structure the content of a document using tags to mark up text and other elements on a web page.
How does HTML work?
HTML elements are the building blocks of a web page. When a web browser loads an HTML document, it interprets the tags and renders the document accordingly. A tag tells the browser where an element begins and ends, while an attribute depicts the characteristics of an element. The browser will display the text, images, and other elements on the page according to the instructions in the tags and attribute.
An element consists of three main parts, they are:
● Opening tag — it is used to indicate where an element begins to take effect. The tag is wrapped in a beginning and closing angle bracket. For example, utilizing the start tag <p> to create a paragraph.
● Content — This is the output that is displayed on the web page.
● Closing tag — it is used to indicate where an element ends. The tag is wrapped in a closing angle bracket with a forward slash before the name of the element. For example, utilizing the end tag < / p> to end a paragraph.
What are the basic elements of an HTML page?
The basic elements of HTML are tags. Tags are used to mark up text and other elements on a web page. The most common tags are:
● <h1>: This tag is used to create a heading.
● <p>: This tag is used to create a paragraph.
● <img>: This tag is used to insert an image.
● <a>: This tag is used to create a link.
